When I was young I borrowed my mother’s camera. She was a great inspiration for me. Turned our kitchen into a darkroom. It was magic to see the pictures develop there in the darkness.
So it was mainly black and white for me.
Moved to Stockholm and started to study photography at Nordens Fotoskola. Focus at the school was longer projects in a documentary tradition.
Worked as freelance for many years and at the same time I made space for my own projects.Going back and forth to Ireland. Photographing horse fairs, old pubs and people. Berlin was an other project. I was there under the turbulent years around 1988-91.
Later years I have been traveling around on the west coast of USA visiting ghost towns and also driving on legendary Route 66.
